Vantec Wins National Award for New Facility

On Thursday March 20th, Vantec Europe Limited were presented with the award for New/Start-Up Facility, at the inaugural SHD Logistics Awards, hosted by comedian Miles Jupp, at London’s Park Lane Hotel.

The event, held by SHD Logistics Magazine for the first time this year, celebrates excellence in the logistics and intralogistics sector, across ten main categories.

Vantec won the New/Start-Up Facility Award for the build and implementation of its 38,750m2 warehouse, situated on Turbine Business Park, which is a government Enterprise Zone; the company were also shortlisted for two other awards categories: Operations (Large) and Innovation.

A Vantec representative from our London Heathrow Freight Forwarding office, Masakazu Kaneko (pictured in the middle of the photo) attended the ceremony on behalf of the company to collect the New Facility Award. Other companies nominated for the award included Eddie Stobart and MoD with TVS Supply Chain Solutions.

Ian Hepplewhite, Senior Projects Manager here at Vantec, said: “Vantec Europe Ltd are delighted to receive this award. This was our first new build project as a company and to be recognised in a national event is testament to the hard work and dedication everyone involved put into this project.”

The SHD Logistics Awards were declared a successful and important event by its guests, who enjoyed a three course meal in the elegant 1920s ballroom of the hotel, before Miles Jupp provided twenty minutes of comedy. The comedian also announced each winner, who joined him on stage to collect their trophy.

Other winners on the night across 10 main categories included:  Marks & Spencer, Palletline, Norbert Dentressangle, Fresh Logistics, Babcock International, Wiley with Storage Aspects and Chichester Haulage, Europa Worldwide Logistics, Barfoots of Botley, Molson Coors and TVS Supply Chain Solutions, and Partner Logistics.

Also, highly commended on the night, were FedEx Express and World Duty Free Group with Allport Cargo Services.
