Vantec Europe is in the early stages of implementing a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy.
What is CSR?
Looking at the social impact we have on the community, customers and ourselves.
Working with charities and the local community in various forms such as fundraising, volunteering etc.
Developing initiatives to support the local community in which we work.
Other areas of CSR include looking at the environment and economic impact.
A Vantec CSR steering committee has been formed, which will be responsible for things including:
The development of a strategy and objectives of a sustainable CSR pilot activity.
Implementing initiatives and targets for CSR activities and measuring their success.
Ensuring communication and engagement from all areas of the business.
Vantec held an employee vote to determine which, out of four suggested charities, would be the charity we would support with any fundraising efforts in 2014. Casey Barlow, HR Officer, announced the winner: ‘I am pleased to announce that the charity with the majority of employee votes was Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). We would like to raise awareness and funds for this charity and therefore are in discussions about organising a charity quiz night. Thank you to all of you who took the time to vote.’
Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions. CRY aims to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD), promoting and developing heart screening programmes, supporting those diagnosed with life threatening cardiac conditions, and supporting those affected by sudden cardiac death.
